Five Mukah students nabbed for bullying, seriously injuring junior

SIBU: Five students of a boarding school in Mukah, about 160km from here, have been arrested for bullying.

Mukah OCPD Deputy Supt Muhamad Rizal Alias said the Fifth Formers had allegedly assaulted the victim twice, causing him serious injuries.

He said the first alleged assault took place in the boys' dormitory at about 9.30pm on Monday (March 25) when the suspects accused the victim, a Form Two student, of losing their pants after washing them.

"The victim sustained injuries on his chest and back," he said.

The second alleged assault happened the next day at 9.30pm, also at the same place.

"This time, the victim was severely injured on the chest, stomach and private parts. He has been sent to Hospital Bintulu for examination and further treatment," said DSP Muhamad Rizal.

The case is being investigated under Sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 377CA (sexual violation) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Penal Code, he added.

He urged the public not to speculate on the case as it might cause public alarm.
