Unemployed Batu Gajah man charged with raping teen daughter, outraging her modesty


IPOH: An unemployed man has been charged at the Sessions Court here for raping and outraging the modesty of his teenage daughter at a house in Kampung Seri Rahmat in Batu Gajah.

The 38-year-old pleaded guilty on Friday (March 29) to the two charges under Section 376(3) and Section 354 of the Penal Code before Judge Norita Mohd Ardani.

For the first charge, the accused was said to have raped the 19-year-old victim at the house in February between 10pm and midnight.

Under the law, the accused can face up to 30 years in jail and whipping.

In the second charge, he was accused of having used criminal force to outrage the modesty of the girl at the same location on March 20 at about 8.30am.

He could face up to 10 years in jail, a fine, whipping, or any of the two punishments.

Under Section 295(1A) of the Criminal Procedure Code, the accused could also be put under police surveillance for up to three years after serving his punishment.

Norita set April 17 for the facts of the case and a decision on the punishment.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Qurratu'aini Khalifah prosecuted while the accused was not represented.
