Bone fragments found belong to Bella, says sister

BATU PAHAT: "Give all of us strength," writes Norhisham Samsusah, 36, on her Facebook after six bone fragments found in Tongkah Pecah two months ago were confirmed to belong to her sister Mila Sharmila Samsusah, better known as Bella.

Norhisham shared the news after the family received the forensic report from Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI), Johor Bahru, on Friday (March 29).

"I was informed that the bones which were found recently belonged to my late sister Bella," Sinar Harian quoted Norhisham as saying on Saturday (March 30).

Norhisham also said the bone fragments would be claimed on Saturday and buried in Bella's grave at Banang Heights burial ground.

The mystery of Bella's disappearance last Dec 14 was finally answered after bone fragments were found in an abandoned house at Kampung Batu 7, Tongkak Pechah, on Dec 19.

A DNA test confirmed that the bones belonged to Bella, leading to the arrest of a suspect and two accomplices.

On Feb 28, six bone fragments (of the thighs, elbow and shin) were found at the location where Bella's remains were found.

The single mother of two was believed to have been killed by her boyfriend, Mohammad Haikal Mahfuz, 24, who has been charged for murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
