Body of woman who fell into monsoon drain found, daughter still missing


PETALING JAYA: The body of a woman who fell into a monsoon drain in Kota Perdana here has been found but her four-year-old daughter is still missing.

"The body of the victim, an adult woman, was found and retrieved at 1.18pm on Monday (April 1). Her remains were found about 7km from the scene of the incident," said Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar when contacted.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm AA Anbalagan had said that a family of five were fishing in a monsoon drain near a stream in Jalan KP 4/9 Kota Perdana on Sunday (March 31) when they were caught in a water surge which swept the family away.

The 40-year-old father and his nine-year-old son survived but a 10-year-old child was found dead.
