IGP: Ops Selamat for Hari Raya to begin April 8


PETALING JAYA: This year's Hari Raya Ops Selamat will begin on April 8.

"Ops Selamat 22 begins on April 8 and concludes on April 13 will be conducted with the theme 'Safe home, reaching your destination safely'.

"Those who plan to go back to their hometowns for the holiday period; I urge all to plan ahead properly and to be patient and responsible while driving your vehicles on the road," said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said in a video launch on the police's official Facebook page.

Previously, the Works Ministry announced that road users in private vehicles would enjoy toll-free travel on highways on April 8 and 9 in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

It said that the Cabinet had decided that toll-free travel for Class 1 (private vehicles) would be implemented on all highways nationwide from 12.01am on April 8 until 11.59pm on April 9.
