Man arrested after jealousy-fuelled petrol station punch-up in Johor

ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 35-year-old man has been arrested over a fight that occurred at a petrol station in Bukit Indah, here.

Iskandar Puteri acting OCPD Supt Ibrahim Mat Som said that the arrest was made after a 26-year-old man involved in the fight lodged a police report.

"A video of the fight was uploaded on social media on Saturday (April 6) showing a fight between two men and a woman.

"In the report, the victim claimed that he was hit by the woman's husband. An interrogation of the two men revealed that the fight occurred due to jealousy," he said in a statement here on Sunday (April 7).

The suspect was arrested at the Kota Iskandar Highway at noon on Sunday for an investigation under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for causing hurt and criminal intimidation.

"We will apply for a remand at the Johor Baru court," he added.

The 46-second video was posted on Facebook showing an individual punching another man and woman at a petrol station.
