Two missing in Semporna estate after car gets stuck in mud

KOTA KINABALU: Two people have gone missing while trying to leave an estate on foot in the Semporna district on Sunday (April 7).

According to the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department, the two victims left the estate in a car.

However, the car's tyres got stuck in a patch of mud and the duo were forced to alight the vehicle and make their way out on foot.

When they failed to arrive at the entrance, a workmate called for assistance, believing that the duo had lost their way.

A distress call was made at 7.12pm on Sunday and a search operation has been mounted.

The search and rescue operation is ongoing and the Fire and Rescue Department operations room is still trying to confirm details of the missing duo.
