Zii Jia smashes his way into Asian Championships quarter-finals


PETALING JAYA: Men’s singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia kept his campaign at the Asian Championships going as he progressed into the quarter-finals.

World No. 11 Zii Jia took down Taiwan’s Chou Tien-chen 21-15, 21-17 in 39 minutes at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Centre in China on Thursday (April 11).

The result marks Zii Jia’s fourth win out of nine meetings with the world No. 15 Taiwanese player.

In the opening round on Wednesday, Zii Jia defeated India’s Priyanshu Rajawat, winning the match 21-9, 21-13.
