Man makes illegal U-turn, leads cops on 2km chase


TANAH MERAH: A man who made an illegal U-turn led cops on a 2km chase before he was arrested and police found fireworks worth RM1,000 in his car.

Tanah Merah district police chief Supt Mohd Haki Hasbullah said the suspect had made an illegal U-turn and sped off.

He was driving in a manner which could adversely affect other motorists.

Police gave chase and caught him about two kilometres away and recovered a box of firecrackers worth RM1,000 in his car," he said in a statement on Friday (April 12), adding that the arrest was made at about 3pm during Ops Selamat 22 at the Taman Kota Harmoni junction.

Mohd Haki said the suspect did not have a driving licence and the road tax for his had also expired. – Bernama
