Worker falls 30m while repairing pipe, suffers back injury


IPOH: A worker carrying out pipe maintenance work fell into a 30m-deep ravine in Gerik, injuring his back.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon said the 38-year-old victim was working at the side of the road near the Bintang Hijau rest and recreational area when he fell.

She said they received a distress call regarding the incident on Monday (April 15).

Firemen who arrived on a scene gave him first aid before hauling him up the ravine on a stretcher.
