Chegubard, Mohamad Salim arrive at MCMC HQ to have statements taken

CYBERJAYA: Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard, and fellow political influencer Mohamad Salim Iskandar have arrived at the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) headquarters.

Mohamad Salim arrived first with Badrul reaching just before 3.30pm Wednesday (April 17).

Both said that they did not know why they had been summoned but would cooperate.

According to MCMC officers there, it is estimated that the statement recording session will last around two hours.

On Tuesday (April 16) at Bukit Aman, both Badrul and Mohamad Salim were visited by a group who they claimed were from the MCMC.

"If we do not attend then a warrant will be issued by the magistrate (court). Around six to seven people came and asked us for a document that said we agreed to come, and that we will hand over our gadgets.

"This is no longer intimidation but an abuse of power. So me and Salim will be there tomorrow at around 3pm," Badrul said.

Both were met outside Bukit Aman as they came to show support for former Batu Berendam MP Datuk Mohd Tamrin Abdul Ghafar who had been summoned by the police for their own investigations into a blog post he wrote.
