PUTRAJAYA: Heitech Padu Berhad was awarded the contract to maintain the Road Transport Ministry's (JPJ) MySikap website as its tender bid was the lowest and most reasonable, says Anthony Loke.
The Transport Minister debunked claims by certain quarters that the contract was given to the company as one of its major shareholders is Farhash Wafa Salvador, the former political secretary of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He also said that a submission awarding the contract to Heitech Padu was sent to the Finance Ministry by the Transport Ministry's acquisition board on Dec 4, 2019 and the Treasury approved it on Feb 2 this year.
He said the Transport Ministry only issued the letter of acceptance to Heitech Padu on April 5 this year.

"Farhash had purchased 15.9% of shares only on March 16 this year. This means he had acquired the shares after the contract was awarded to the company on Feb 2 and not before it secured the project. As emphasised by the Prime Minister, after Farhash acquired the shares in the company, no other government contract has been offered to Heitech Padu," he said at a press conference at the Transport Ministry headquarters here on Wednesday (April 17).
"If there are any parties that are still dissatisfied with this clarification, the Prime Minister welcomes them to lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for a thorough investigation," he said.
Loke said two other companies had also vied for the contract with bids of RM186.8mil and RM199.5mil.
It was also reported that the value of the RM185.07mil MySikap contract awarded to HeiTech Padu rose to RM190.01mil due to a job merger.
