Defenceless senior citizen gets chilli sauce in face, badly beaten by robber

JASIN: A sickly 61-year-old man had chilli sauce splashed in his face before being brutally attacked in a robbery at his home in Kampung Ayer Tawar, Merlimau here.

Jasin OCPD Deputy Supt Ahmad Jamil Radzi said the victim, who needs crutches to move around, sustained head injuries in the 10am incident on Wednesday (April 24).

"The victim was attacked shortly after he was discharged from hospital and was lying in bed alone at home.

"He had been involved in an accident recently," he said on Thursday (April 25).

DSP Ahmad Jamil said the robber entered the victim's house through the back door before throwing the chilli sauce at him and hitting him with a plastic chair.

"The assailant was aggressive, hitting the defenceless victim several times," he said.

DSP Ahmad Jamil said the victim cried for help, to no avail.

He then called the police after the robber left.

The victim lost his bag containing personal items and RM400 cash.

DSP Ahmad Jamil said the suspect is believed to be in his 30s and a manhunt has been launched.
