KKB polls: Four-cornered fight for Selangor state seat


PETALING JAYA: It is a four-cornered fight for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election here following the closing of the nomination centre at 10am on Saturday (April 27).

Returning officer Yuhanas Auree Kamaruddin announced that the four candidates had successfully filed their nomination papers.

DAP’s Pang Sock Tao will represent Pakatan Harapan, Khairul Azhari Saut is Perikatan Nasional’s candidate and Hafizah Zainuddin is running on a Parti Rakyat Malaysia ticket.

Alongside candidates from the three parties, Nyau Ke Xin is running as an independent.

Earlier, another independent candidate Chng Boon Lai also filed for nomination but was disqualified for having incomplete documents.

The by-election is being held following the demise of its incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong from DAP on March 21 due to cancer.

Polling day is set for May 11, with early voting scheduled for May 7.
