MACC nabs two high-ranking officers from Johor water supply company

JOHOR BARU: Two high-ranking officers at a water supply company in Johor have been detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

It is learnt that the two male suspects, aged 36 and 40, were detained at the Selangor MACC office at around 2pm on Monday (April 29).

This follows several complaints lodged against both men last year for allegedly receiving bribes from two contractors.

The suspects also allegedly submitted documents with false details to obtain an allocation of RM3.3mil for a programme that was not fully conducted.

Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias confirmed that the two suspects were detained under Section 16(a)(A) and Section 18 of the MACC Act.

Both suspects are expected to be taken to the Johor Baru Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (April 30) to be remanded.
