Decision soon on 10 detainees


KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation papers involving 10 individuals detained in connection with Israeli Shalom Avitan who was charged with possession of firearms, will be referred to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) this week.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said a discussion would also be held this week to determine the next course of action to be taken against the suspects.

“As I mentioned before, all suspects are currently held under Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma). The detention for seven local suspects will end on May 14 while it is May 15 for the three foreigners.

“We expect to have a meeting on the next course of action this week,” he told a reporters at the Kuala Lumpur police Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration yesterday.
