Sungai Bakap assemblyman in stable condition, says wife

GEORGE TOWN: Sungai Bakap assemblyman Nor Zamri Latiff is in a stable condition at the Seberang Jaya Hospital, says his wife Musalmah Yusop.

Musalmah added that her husband is currently semi-conscious as he has been sedated to let him rest.

She refuted reports claiming that the first-term assemblyman is in a medically-induced coma.

"He can respond to us, but he needs enough rest so that he can recuperate from his illness," she said, calling on constituents to pray for her husband's recovery so that he can return to work as the Sungai Bakap assemblyman.

Two days ago, the PAS politician was taken to the Sungai Bakap Hospital due to an inflammation of the stomach.

He was then transferred to HSJ on the same day.

Nor Zamri contested the Sungai Bakap state seat in the 15th general election in August 2023 where he won the seat against Nurhidayah Che Rus from PKR with a 1,563-vote majority.
