KKB polls: Pakatan’s Pang launches five-point manifesto

HULU SELANGOR: Environmental sustainability, preserving heritage and culture, and the people’s welfare are among the issues outlined in Pang Sock Tao’s manifesto for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

Pang, who is Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for the seat, launched her five-point manifesto at a mega ceramah here on Friday (May 3).

She also pledged towards revitalising the economy and improving public transport, facilities and Internet infrastructure.

“My priority is to inject vitality into our local economy, especially the ecotourism sector.

“This includes fostering the development of local industries, promoting sustainable eco-tourism initiatives, and nurturing a culture of entrepreneurship, particularly among women and younger generation,” she said.

She said Kuala Kubu Baharu held a rich tapestry of heritage and culture, pledging to preserve and uphold its heritage sites and cultural traditions.

Pang also expressed commitment to preserve natural resources alongside ensuring the environment for future generations.

Also present at the mega ceramah were PKR vice-presidents Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who are the Selangor Mentri Besar and Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar respectively.

Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, former Selangor mentri besar Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib and senior DAP leaders were also present.

Pang is a four-cornered fight for the Kuala Kubu Baharu seat.

She is up against Perikatan Nasional’s Khairul Azhari Saut, Parti Rakyat Malaysia’s Hafizah Zainudin and Independent Nyau Ke Xin.

Polling day is set for May 11, with early voting on May 7.
