Kajang flood: Fire and Rescue Department evacuates elderly woman from home


THE Fire and Rescue Department were called in to evacuate an 86-year-old woman from her Kajang home after heavy rain caused it to be flooded with ankle-deep water.

Kajang Fire and Rescue Station operation commander Mazlan Mohmad led the operation to evacuate the woman after her house was filled with flood water in Kampung Sungai Kantan.

Reports from the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department stated that the flash flood had also caused a traffic jam in the surrounding areas.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), Bangi MP Syahredzan confirmed that Kajang had been hit by a flash flood.

He added that heavy rain caused traffic jams around Kajang.

The affected areas include Pasar Kajang, Kampung Sungai Kantan, Kampung Sungai Jenih, Taman Sri Langat, and near SMK Saujana Impian, as well as Jalan Raja Haroun and Jalan Sri Jelok in the direction of the Kajang Prison.
