“This activity is not known to many and my husband was even sceptical at first.
“He thought that it was a waste of time and the equipment was so expensive.
“However, after three years of talking him into it, my husband decided to give it a try and we bought a used metal detector and went to beaches along Port Dickson in Negri Sembilan and Pantai Remis in Selangor,” she told the daily.
Heidizaini said metal detecting activities in the country focused mainly on searching for valuable metals such as metal accessories that had been left behind.
He said when someone finds valuable metals such as gold or silver, he will try to locate the owner first for a certain period before selling them.
“This has been the routine for us and what we have been telling other enthusiasts as well.
“It’s a form of courtesy when we find valuable items that don’t belong to us,” he added.
