THE death of a young man in India after undergoing liposuction has been linked to unqualified medical personnel performing the procedure, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Hemachandran, a design engineer from Puducherry, had gone for surgery to lose weight.

However, he reportedly died of a heart attack just minutes after the surgery at a private hospital in Chennai.

The victim’s family members were devastated by Hemachandran’s shocking death, especially his twin brother Hemarajan, a medical technician.

Hemachandran’s family had filed a police report over the outcome.

Investigations found that the hospital did not have sufficient facilities for emergencies and did not have qualified personnel to perform such surgeries.

State health officials have shut down the hospital and ordered a review of other hospitals performing similar procedures.
