Trio arrested for suspected drug trafficking in Kluang district


KLUANG: Police have arrested two men and a woman for allegedly distributing drugs in the district.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the arrest was made on May 10 at 12.10am during a raid.

“The trio, aged 25 to 40, were found together with 16 transparent packets containing drugs believed to be syabu, weighing 105g and worth RM21,000.

“A background check revealed that all three suspects have priors involving drugs and crime,” he said in a statement here on Sunday (May 12).

ACP Bahrin added that the trio also tested positive for methamphetamine and is currently under remand until May 16.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act for drug trafficking which provides the death penalty upon conviction.
