King and political leaders extend Mothers Day greetings

MELAKA: Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, graced the National Mothers Day Celebration 2024 at the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) Family Centre in Ayer Keroh.

Her Majesty was accompanied by the wife of the Melaka Yang di-Pertua Negeri Toh Puan Asmah Ab Rahman, the Prime Minister’s wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh and his wife Datin Seri Zuriyah Ab Aziz.

Also present was Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

Meanwhile, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty extended Mothers Day greetings to all mothers.

Sultan Ibrahim also paid tribute to Raja Zarith Sofiah for her love, sacrifices and support for their children.

“I am always grateful to Allah for blessing me with an incredibly caring wife and mother to our children. The sacrifices and love that Raja Zarith pours into raising them are immense,” His Majesty said in a Facebook post, Bernama reported.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof hailed the noble role of mothers in raising a generation in this challenging era.

“Unconditional love. Boundless sacrifice. That’s how great a mother’s love is. Let’s cherish our mothers who are still with us and remember them in our prayers for their immeasurable sacrifices and kindness,” he said, urging everyone to appreciate and treat mothers with utmost respect.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek described mothers as the most special beings, saying that their deeds and sacrifices are immeasurable.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said mothers have made great sacrifices in raising, educating and showering undivided love upon their children.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail shared a special message to his mother the late Che Gayah Hassan, and his wife Norhayati Musa.

“The deeds and sacrifices of mothers warrant continuous prayers from us, their children,” he said.

Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said: “Mothers build Malaysia with their hands, prayers and love. A nation is strong because of strong families. Happy Mothers Day to all our mothers!”
