MagnumCares’ hosts charity walk for autism awareness

The ‘MagnumCares Fun Walk for Autism’ event brought together over 1,000 participants and supporters of all ages, coming together in solidarity to raise awareness and funds in support of Persatuan Kanner Melaka.

MELAKA: MagnumCares, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Magnum 4D Bhd, celebrated its successful ‘MagnumCares Fun Walk for Autism’ event on Mother’s Day at the Proclamation of Independence Memorial here.

The event brought together over 1,000 participants and supporters of all ages, coming together in solidarity to raise awareness and funds in support of Persatuan Kanner Melaka, an organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by autism.

Highlight of the event was the special appearance by TVB Hong Kong’s celebrated artiste Edwin Siu who lent his voice in support of MagnumCares’ dedication towards raising awareness and championing inclusivity for the autistic community.

Participants also had the opportunity to walk alongside Siu, as he inspired them to continue their support, spread awareness, and most importantly, advocate for inclusivity and compassion together with MagnumCares.

MagnumCares has a longstanding commitment to supporting the community and has also actively engaged in various initiatives aimed at promoting inclusion and fostering awareness for autism through partnerships with local NGOs.

“We are proud to receive the support from the community for our ‘MagnumCares Fun Walk for Autism’ event,” said Magnum 4D Bhd executive director Krian Upatkoon.

“It is truly heartwarming to see everyone coming together to make a difference for individuals and families affected by autism.

“This event is a testament to our ongoing commitment to making a difference and fostering a more inclusive society in support of the autistic community.”

He shared, “We are very happy to also have the support from TVB Anywhere, Mamee, Persatuan Kanner Melaka, Pertubuhan Gerakan Belia Bersatu Melaka, and Ancient Galaxy. Their support and dedication to the cause truly played a significant role in the event’s success.

“We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants, supporters, and volunteers who contributed to the triumph of the ‘MagnumCares Fun Walk for Autism’ event. Not only did we get to walk alongside Siu, but we also got to immerse ourselves in the rich history of Malacca while also celebrating Mother’s Day together.

“We are reminded of the importance of preserving our heritage while also embracing progress, showing love and inclusion. One step at a time, we created unforgettable moments and have made a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by autism.”

Following the ‘MagnumCares Fun Walk for Autism’ event, Siu also made a heartfelt visit to Persatuan Kanner Melaka where he gained a deeper understanding of their impactful work and spent quality time interacting with the children there, helping to repack bean sprouts for selling, and assisting in making snacks for the children to enjoy.

Together with MagnumCares and TVB Anywhere, Siu also participated in planting pineapple plants, which are expected to mature just in time for Chinese New Year next year, symbolising good luck and prosperity to Persatuan Kanner Melaka.

The children’s faces lit up with excitement as they met Siu, creating unforgettable memories for them.

The funds raised from the event will go towards supporting Persatuan Kanner Melaka in providing resources and assistance to individuals and families affected by autism.
