Ipoh family looking for missing teenage girl

IPOH: The family of a 14-year-old girl, who has been reportedly missing since the end of last month, are still looking for her.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said Safiea Dania Muhamad Zakri, from Jalan Intan, Kampung Dato Ahmad Said here, was reported missing since April 24 evening.

ACP Abang Zainal Abidin said before her disappearance, the girl had followed her older brother on his motorcycle to work.

"Halfway on their journey, their vehicle broke down and her brother told her to take an e-hailing cab to her workplace," he said, adding that the girl did not carry any luggage bag.

"That was the last time the brother had seen her," he added.

ACP Abang Zainal said Safiea Dania is believed to have informed her mother that she works in a canteen at a factory in Jelapang.

"When the mother tried to look for her, she was informed that the girl did not work there.

"The mother contacted her daughter's friends and was told that the girl was working in an eatery in Kampung Tawas," he said.

"The family members had gone around the area (Kampung Tawas) but no one has seen or recognised her," he added.

ACP Abang Zainal said Safiea Dania was last seen wearing a purple-colour long sleeve shirt, a black tudung and a pair of pants of unknown colour.

"She has purple chest-length hair, fair skin, about 159cm tall and weighs about 56kg," he said.

"Those with information can contact investigating officer Insp Anis Safira Roslan at 018-786 5440 or the district police station at 05-245 1500," he added.
