NOT only did she get to work with Raymond Lam, Malaysian actress Sandra Lim got her first on-screen kiss with the veteran Hong Kong actor in a TV drama, China Press reported.

The 23-year-old runner-up of Miss Global 2022 plays a character who is having an affair with the man portrayed by Lam, 44, in The Heir To The Throne.

“It was my first on-screen kiss. We knew there was a kissing scene, and they made sure we were okay and comfortable with how filming was done,” she said.

Lim admitted that she had hesitated about the role when she first read the script.

“After I made a decision (to film it), I didn’t let it hold me back. I thought I had braced myself for it but when the director told me to throw myself on Lam, I was shocked!

“Even so, I steeled myself to be ready for the shoot,” she said.

Lim added that even though the scene with Lam involved footage from multiple angles, they managed to shoot all of them on the first try.

Asked how it felt working with a seasoned actor such as Lam, Lim replied that the star had tried to lighten the mood and make sure she was comfortable before filming.

“At the end of the shoot, he came to say thank you and well done. I really respect his professionalism, which is something I can learn from,” she said.

> Mr “Fix-It” Datuk Seri Michael Chong will be penning an autobiography detailing the most challenging cases he has solved in his near-40 years in public service, according to the Chinese press.

In A New Village Boy’s Counterattack, Chong will present a no-holds-barred account of his 37-year journey working in the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department.

The 30,000 cases he has handled include local women being trafficked in by a prostitution ring, botched plastic surgeries, ah long issues, various cheating cases, those tricked into being drug mules as well as job scams.

“Of the cases I have received, around 80% are legal issues. I hereby thank the late Tan Sri Lee Kim Sai, the late Tan Sri Wong Mook Leong, Datuk Tang See Hang and the many MCA leaders for their help in getting a legal team in place, enabling the department to provide legal advice,” he told a press conference attended by major Chinese newspapers.
