KUALA LUMPUR: A 45-year-old man was detained and an array of drugs were seized after police raided a condominium unit in Bandar Baru Seri Petaling.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said a team from the Brickfields Narcotic Crime Investigation Division raided the condominium around 4.20am last Saturday (May 18) following a tip off.
"We detained the local man and seized various drugs including 2.3kg of MDMA powder, 108.4g of ecstasy pills and 20.6g of ketamine.
"We also seized various tools used to produce drugs. Among the tolls were ovens, weighing machine, blenders and several bottles," he told a press conference at the Brickfields police headquarters on Tuesday (May 21).
He said the suspect operated solo and produced the drugs at the condominium unit.
"We believe he has been operating for about two months.
"Most of this customers are party-goers in the Klang Valley, who would purchase drugs from the suspect before going into clubs," he said.
The suspect, who had 10 prior offences on his criminal record, mostly for drug related offences, has been remanded until Friday (May 24), ACP Ku Mashariman said.
"We believe he is self-taught as he did his own research before going into drug trafficking.
"He also tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine," he said.
His customers would text their orders via a text messaging application before the suspect would send the drugs directly to them, he said.
"Each 30g-packets of drugs are priced between RM200 and RM250 packet.
"The drugs seized were worth RM106,650 and could have been supplied to 1,545 drug users," he said..
ACP Ku Mashariman urged those with information on drug related activities to contact the police as soon as possible.
"We need the cooperation of the public in the war against the drug menace," he said.
