Delay in transfer from Akaun Fleksibel sparks questions

PETALING JAYA: For Employees Provident Fund (EPF) members who have applied for withdrawals from their new Akaun Fleksibel, a big question is playing on their mind.

When will the money be credited into their bank account?

Some had gone to social media to share tips on how to check the date on when EPF would bank in their requested amount.

“Those who applied on May 18 have yet to get their money. What is happening?” Mohd Syafiq Tarmizi, 33, asked.

He said he had received the approval notice via his i-Akaun but has yet to get any date about the bank transfer.

Starting May 11, the EPF has restructured the savings of its members aged 55 and below to Akaun Persaraan (Account 1), Akaun Sejahtera (Account 2) and Akaun Fleksibel (Account 3).

For these members, they have a one-time option to transfer part of their savings in Akaun Sejahtera to Akaun Fleksibel between May 11 and Aug 31.

Another EPF contributor, Maisara Alias, 44, also hoped to get further details about the date for the money transaction.

“If we get an exact date, it will be good, but there is nothing on the app yet,” she said.

Furthermore, she said that today is a non-working day as it is a public holiday to mark Wesak Day.

Nor Hanis Farhanah Mohd Isa, 28, wondered why it seems to take quite some time for the transfer from Akaun Fleksibel to her bank account.

A social media user @nraness said she had received the approval but has not got an exact date for the fund transfer.

“Until now, there is no update on which date I will get my money. Anyone else like me?” she asked.

However, others like Mohd Fadhli Ishak, 40, said these applicants should be patient.

“I applied on May 18 and the payment was made on May 21 evening,” he said.

“I am so thankful for this,” he added.

The EPF has yet to comment as at press time.

“The credit payment period for withdrawals from Akaun Fleksibel will be made to your registered bank account within seven working days upon application approval,” said EPF on its website’s FAQ section.
