KANGAR: Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail successfully underwent surgery on his left leg at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital (HTF) here yesterday.
Istana Arau in a statement on Tuesday (May 28) said Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin is in a stable condition and the surgery was successfully completed.
"Their Royal Highnesses Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin and the Raja Perempuan of Perlis Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid express their gratitude to all the people as well as friends and relatives who never ceased to pray to Allah SWT for Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin's safety, well-being and a speedy recovery," said the statement.
The statement also said that the Raja of Perlis and Raja Perempuan of Perlis express their gratitude to the (medical) specialists, especially Datuk Dr Fadzir Mohamad of the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, Dr Jasmeet Singh Saren a/l Manjit Singh (KMI Taman Desa Medical Centre), Dr Aminuddin Mohamad (Putrajaya Hospital), Dr Syed Addi Usmi Syed Othman (HTF) as well as all employees of the Perlis Health Department and HTF.
"Their Royal Highnesses also extend their gratitude to all parties directly or indirectly involved in ensuring that the operation and treatment of Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin was carried out well," according to the statement.
The Raja Perempuan of Perlis, Regent of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and Tengku Puteri Mahkota of Perlis Datuk Seri Sharifah Fazira Jamalullail were all present at the HTF while the Raja of Perlis was undergoing surgery.
Also present were their Royal Highnesses' grandchildren namely Sharifah Khatreena Nuraniah Jamalullail, Sharifah Farah Adriana Jamalullail and Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra Jamalullail.
The Istana Arau statement also said that the Raja of Perlis will continue to recuperate in the HTF Royal Ward following the surgery.
"The Regent of Perlis also has issued a call to all people (of Perlis) to continue to pray for the well-being and recovery of the Raja of Perlis," added the statement. - Bernama
