While eating the durian fruit is a popular activity here, not many know that even its flowers can be a tasty snack, especially when fried and eaten with rice, reported Sinar Harian.
A TikTok user known as Alex shared the recipe for cooking durian flowers, where he cautioned that not all parts of the durian flower are edible.
The flower must also be cleaned properly.
Before frying, the flowers need to be boiled first to remove the slime.
“Cooked durian flowers can be eaten on their own or served with hot rice.
“In addition to frying, the durian flower can be cooked in a variety of ways according to individual tastes,” he wrote in the video caption.
Alex also demonstrated that the liquid found on freshly collected durian flowers is as sweet as honey, and that it can be slurped.
> A Proton Persona was gifted to parents Mohd Azlan Ishak and Norhidayu Halim, whose tale of how they are struggling to care for their 11-month-old son, Mohd Aariz Zafran, touched many hearts.
Firdaus Shariffudin, a 36-year-old used car entrepreneur, gave the car to the couple – said not to be legally married – shortly after their plight went viral, Harian Metro reported.
“Despite their legal status, I have no regrets about helping them, as my intention was to assist a father in need.”
“Azlan came to the shop last Wednesday with a budget of RM1,000 to buy a car. However I encouraged him to choose any car he wanted,” said Firdaus, who added that Mohd Azlan eventually chose a Proton Persona worth RM 18,000.
He said he respected Azlan’s privacy and past mistakes, believing that everyone deserves a second chance.
Firdaus hoped that the viral story might prompt authorities to offer proper assistance and help the couple get married.
Previously, it was reported the couple’s struggle, including taking their son to the hospital on a motorcycle while he wore a respirator, caught the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
> The act of two women intentionally stepping on a grave is considered uncivilised and abominable under Islamic law, Kosmo! reported.
Celebrity speaker Ustaz Azhar Idrus explained that deliberately sitting on a grave is also illegal.
“Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. forbade people from crossing or stepping on graves as the deceased should be respected just as the living are.”
“When someone dies, their body should be handled with care, including carrying it slowly and bathing it with water that is neither too hot nor too cold,” he added.
Recently, a video clip showing two women intentionally stepping on a grave at a cemetery went viral.
The owner of the video clip said later after the backlash that the grave was fake and the act was staged.
