Car skids, crashes into gates of Istana Besar Johor


JOHOR BARU: A car driven by a 25-year-old man skidded and crashed into the gates of Istana Besar Johor here.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat stated that the incident occurred at 3pm and was caused by slippery road conditions.

"The man was driving alone when his car skidded and there were no other vehicles involved. The driver was also uninjured in the accident.

"Investigations also revealed that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol, and he tested negative for drugs," he said in a statement here on Monday (3 June).

He added that the driver was released on police bail and the case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.

A photo and a three-second video depicting a car crashing into the palace gates were posted on the JB Talks Facebook page.
