Nine-month-old baby trapped in car in Kota Kinabalu


KOTA KINABALU: Firemen came to a baby’s rescue who was accidentally left in a locked car near the RHB Bank along Gaya Street, here, Monday morning.

In a statement from the Sabah Fire and Rescue Services Department, the nine-month-old baby boy was successfully reunited with his parents after being trapped in the car for 20 minutes.

A team from the Kota Kinabalu station in Sembulan were dispatched to the scene after a distress call was received at 11.28am.

Firemen arrived at the scene at 11.35am, and used special equipment to pry the door open, completing the task within nine minutes.

The victim was in stable condition when rescued.

Operation was called off at 11.44am, after ensuring the situation was safe.
