Boys' dorm of Terengganu school catches fire again

KUALA BERANG: The boys' dormitory of SM Sains Hulu Terengganu here caught fire again early Tuesday (June 4) morning, following a previous fire on a different floor on May 12.

Kuala Berang fire station chief Zulhisham Mohamad Yusof said they received a distress call from the dormitory authorities at 1.57am and nine firefighters in two fire engines were sent to the scene.

"The fire involved a dormitory room measuring 4.5m x 4.5m (15 x 15 feet) on the fourth floor, which was 80% destroyed,” he said when contacted.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was still being determined, Zulhisham added.

It was reported last month that 10 boarding school students had a narrow escape when a 3.30am fire destroyed about 70% of their dormitory. – Bernama
