MALAYSIAN singer Gary Chaw (pic) is ready to find a new love, just over a year after his divorce, reported Sin Chew Daily.
While performing at Genting Highlands recently, the 44-year-old said he had suffered a lot in the past few years but held on to a glimmer of hope in finding love once more.
“I am dry and very thirsty, and I need a girlfriend,” he said mid-performance.
The Sabah-born singer startled fans by announcing that he is fine with anyone who does not have a husband, boyfriend or girlfriend.
“I am fine (with anyone)!” he said.
Chaw, who is based in Taiwan, returned to Malaysia after three years to hold his Crazy for Live 2nd Encore Show concert.
During the performance, Chaw also spoke about his disciplinarian grandfather.
“You have heard of me hitting other people, but have you heard of other people beating me?
“When I was a child, whenever I misbehaved, my grandfather would beat me. It was for my own good. He died after I grew up and there was no one else to discipline me when I misbehaved,” he said.
Chaw is notorious for drunken brawls, which led to the break-up of his marriage to Wu Shuling.
The couple officially divorced after 14 years of marriage in November 2022. They have two children, Joe and Grace.
> A local businessman said being “thick-faced” was the key to winning over the heart of Samantha Ee, a former member of the Malaysian all-girl pop group Four Golden Princess, the daily also reported.
Datuk Tai Huat Chang, 75, who is celebrating his fifth wedding anniversary with Ee, 33, revealed that he had flown to Japan, where she was studying, to confess his love for her.
Every day, Tai would wait for her while she made her way to school. But at that time, Ee did not reciprocate his feelings, only treating him as a friend.
But the determined suitor refused to give up.
Tai’s persistence and sincerity finally moved Ee and she agreed to start a relationship with him. They tied the knot in 2019.
The two are now proud parents of three children.
The other members of Four Golden Princess – Mins Eng, Ginger Keong and Richell Lee – were present at Ee’s wedding anniversary do.
