JELEBU: Three foreigners have been rescued after getting lost near Gunung Besar Hantu at Kenaboi State Park near here.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the Mexican, Ecuadorian and British nationals were found at 1.40pm on Tuesday (June 4) along a hiking trail near Jeram Dinding.
He said the Mexican man's Malaysian wife lodged a report on Monday (June 3) after she failed to contact her husband.
"The woman claimed that the three had cycled from Kuala Lumpur to Jelebu via Genting Peras.
"When she last checked the GPS (global positioning system) at 4.40pm, she found that the friends had already reached Chennah in Jelebu.
"However, when she tried to check their whereabouts later, she was unable to locate them," he said.
The spokesman said the woman's attempts to call her husband on his mobile phone were also unsuccessful.
He said the Jelebu Fire and Rescue Department received a call at around 8am Tuesday and a team was dispatched to find the missing men.
The team included STORM (Special Tactical Operations and Rescue Team) personnel, he added.
The trio were found around five hours after the rescue team arrived at the area.
"They had no injuries and were taken to our operations centre," the spokesman said.
The spokesman said police, Civil Defence Force and Forestry Department were also involved in the operation.
