Missing man found dead in car in Johor Baru


JOHOR BARU: A man from Kota Tinggi, who has been missing for almost three weeks, has been found dead inside his car at Taman Sentosa here.

The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Muhammad Hamizan Ramli who went missing since May 18.

Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said police received a distress call from the public about a man found unconscious in a car at around 11.20am on Wednesday (June 5).

“The victim is the person who has been reported missing on May 19 in Kota Tinggi. Inspection by medical personnel from Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) found that the victim, who was seated in the driver's seat, was already dead.

“Further investigations by the police at the scene found no criminal evidence while the body has been sent to HSA for a post-mortem,” he said here on Wednesday.

ACP Raub said the police have since classified the case as sudden death while those with information about the incident should contact the state police hotline at 07-2212999 or lodge a report at the nearest police station.
