HONG KONG superstar Jacky Cheung, who is known for his work ethic and professionalism, stopped midway during a concert in Taiwan after realising that he sang the wrong lyrics, reported China Press.
The 62-year-old, who was performing at his second concert at the Taipei arena on June 1, startled fans after stopping right after singing the first verse to Coffee during his encore set.
Fans were forgiving of the star, who does not use a teleprompter during live performances.A perfectionist, Cheung had in February stopped his performance of Instant Love while touring in China when a track with vocals was played.
Cheung immediately told his crew to “let’s do it again” before apologising to the audience in Mandarin.
“I am sorry. Can we do this again? I think we played the track we used during rehearsal,” he said. Many praised Cheung for his dedication to perfecting his live vocals and not lip-syncing.
