‘Peeping Tom’ busted while filming in toilet

MELAKA: Police arrested a 27-year-old Indonesian man and discovered multiple videos of women filmed inside a toilet of a popular confectionery shop at Lorong Hang Jebat here.

State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zainol Samah said the suspect was arrested on Sunday after a police report was lodged by a 24-year-old woman on the same day.

He said the victim, a logistics executive from Selangor, had caught the suspect red-handed when she was relieving herself in the toilet on the first floor of the shop at 4.15pm on Sunday.

“The victim noticed a mobile phone filming her from a ventilation hole while she was inside the toilet.

“She then sprinkled water using bidet spray at the person whom she had suspected of taking the video before rushing out from the toilet,” he said yesterday.

DCP Zainol said the victim then recounted the incident to her male friend before both of them decided to tell the outlet manager.

He said the outlet manager then checked the mobile phone of the suspect, who works as a cleaner at the outlet before discovering a slew of videos of other victims, believed to have been filmed while they were inside the same toilet stall.

DCP Zainol said the victim was then advised to lodge a police report.

He added that the suspect is currently being investigated for insulting modesty under Section 509 of the Penal Code.
