Dr Ahmad Jailani appointed Public Service Commission chairman

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus has been appointed as the Public Service Commission chairman for a three-year term effective Friday.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, in a statement, said the appointment received the consent of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, in accordance with Article 139(4) of the Federal Constitution.

He said that Ahmad Jailani has extensive experience of 30 years in public service.

He added that Ahmad Jailani held various important positions in the public service including deputy director-general of Public Services (Operations), Public Service Department and secretary-general of the Rural Development Ministry.

Ahmad Jailani holds a PhD in Landscape Ecology and Environmental Management from the University of Hiroshima, Japan. - Bernama
