Dr Wee reminds MCA leaders to remember legacy of founding members

PETALING JAYA: Despite the challenges MCA faces today, it is crucial to remember the founding spirit of the party's forefathers, which is caring for fellow citizens and nation-building, says Datuk Seri Dr. Wee Ka Siong.

"Although MCA is a single-ethnicity political party, it firmly upholds a moderate, multi-ethnic path to ensure that government policies and decisions serve the interests of all citizens," the MCA president said.

The Terengganu MCA State Liaison Committee, along with the state Wanita, recently hosted the "Legacy" musical gala.

The event featured 100 banquet tables and was packed to capacity, creating a lively and spirited atmosphere.

Dr Wee shared his hopes for the recent "Legacy" musical, saying, "I hope that the 'Legacy' musical will not only remind our members of the founding ideals of MCA but also inspire their morale and dedication to the party.

Amid the current political turmoil, he reminds party members to remain resilient and steadfast.

“For non-members, I hope this performance offers a deeper understanding of MCA's principles and struggles. With shared values and common goals, we can unite to create a brighter future for the Chinese community and our country." Dr Wee said in a Facebook post on Friday (June 7).

The musical drama told the story of MCA's founding by Tun Tan Cheng Lock and highlighted some of the significant milestones and achievements of the party since its inception.

Dr Wee also congratulated Terengganu MCA chairman Dr Monna Ong Siew Siew for successfully leading the team in planning and executing the "Legacy" musical.

He thanked all performers and contributors to the show, as well as the Chinese community leaders in Terengganu who actively supported the event.
