KOTA BARU: Kelantan MCA will be allocated a state assembly seat in the 16th General Election (GE16) and the party’s quota in the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) will be increased, says Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub (pic).
The Kelantan Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman said no seats were allocated for MCA in the last state election as only Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN contested but a seat will be allocated in the coming general election.
"The question of winning or losing is secondary but traditionally through the concept of togetherness in BN, a state seat is allocated to the party.
"The move to restructure the unity government in Kelantan is to ensure it regains power in the state government," he told reporters after the 2024 BN Resolution Convention, here Saturday (June 8).
Earlier, Ahmad Jazlan received the resolution from the chairman of the convention Tan Sri Mohamad Fatmi Che Salleh. - Bernama
