Retiree dies after falling off motorcycle in Johor


KLUANG: A 68-year-old retiree was killed after falling off his motorcycle at KM50 Jalan Batu Pahat-Mersing, here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident occurred at 11.25am on Saturday (June 8).

“The victim was heading towards Bandar Kluang from Sri Lalang when he suddenly lost control of his motorcycle and was flung.

“The victim’s head landed on the road divider, causing him to suffer serious injury; he was later pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement here.

ACP Bahrin added that the victim, identified as Md Latif Achil, is a government retiree from Kluang.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act of 1987 for causing death due to reckless and dangerous driving.
