TWO grandmothers made a striking entrance as they leisurely steered their high-powered motorcycles in a convoy towards their planned destination, Berita Harian reported.
Mimi Musa, 49, and Nor Hanani Yusof, 43, rode their Harley Davidson Street Glide and QJ SRV250 with ease.
Mimi’s passion for motorcycles began when she married Azman Azhari, 47, who shares the same interest.
After years of riding as a passenger, she took the plunge and bought her own Harley Davidson three years ago.
The joy of owning and riding a powerful motorcycle extends to her family, with Mimi’s two children, aged 18 and 27, also sharing the passion.
“The moment the engine turns on and the motorcycle moves, it’s an extraordinary satisfaction for us high-powered motorcycle fans,” said the full-time housewife.
Nor Hanani, inspired by her husband Mohamad Nor Amin Ahmad, took the leap to become an independent rider two years ago.
Trading in her passenger seat for her own bike, she finds solo riding more engaging.
“As a passenger, you just sit and can get sleepy on long journeys. Riding alone requires focus, making it a fun challenge,” she added.
Both women are headed to Malaysia Bike Week at the Melaka International Trade Centre starting June 14.
> Nine-year-old Ukaasyah Mohamad Anas captured public attention when his mother posted a video of him flying alone, which garnered over 130,000 views, Harian Metro reported.
Ukaasyah flew from KL International Airport to Kuching on June 2 to resume school.
His father, Mohamad Anas Mohamad Naem, said that due to business commitments, they could not accompany him. Despite their concerns, they decided to let Ukaasyah travel alone.
“It was challenging to let him go, particularly as it was the first time, and we waited at the airport until his plane took off.”
Upon arrival in Kuching, Ukaasyah was greeted by his grandparents.
The airline crew provided excellent service, and Ukaasyah enjoyed the experience so much that he is looking forward to flying solo again.
