MECCA: The Masyair operations team is fully prepared to welcome Malaysian pilgrims to Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina from Friday (June 14), with support and medical services ready at optimum level.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said 31,600 Malaysian pilgrims are in Makkah and awaiting the climax of the haj, which is the wukuf (ritual of standing before God) at Arafah on Saturday (June 15).
"I am grateful to see the facilities and services provided by Tabung Haji (TH) for our pilgrims and I found they are very systematic and of international standard.
"Much of the infrastructure and facilities that were upgraded to facilitate movement, accommodation, as well as meals, are better prepared, ensuring that pilgrims are comfortable while performing the haj, especially during wukuf.
"This clearly shows the commitment of the government and Tabung Haji which always prioritises the welfare, health and safety of our pilgrims," he told the media at TH headquarters here on Tuesday (June 11).
Mohd Na'im said TH's ability and excellence in providing facilities and taking care of welfare had been acknowledged by the pilgrims themselves, who were satisfied with the services provided.
He said he obtained this feedback from pilgrims he greeted at the Abraj Al-Janadriyah Hotel, where more than 6,000 Malaysians are staying.
It also serves as TH's headquarters in Makkah.
"Alhamdulillah, they praised and appreciated the services and sacrifices made by haj workers in treating them as duyufurrahman (guest of Allah)," he said.
At the same time, in the run-up to the day of wukuf, Mohd Na'im asked all Malaysian pilgrims to maintain a disciplined and knowledgeable nature and always protect the good name of the country.
More than two million Muslims will begin the movement to Arafah on Friday to mark the culmination of the haj, which is the wukuf at Arafah, the visit to Muzdhalifah and Mina, as well as the stoning ritual in the three jamrah, namely Sughra, Wusta and Kubra. – Bernama
