Food poisoning puts 15 students in the hospital in Kuala Pilah

JEMPOL: Fifteen students at a boarding school here have been hospitalised due to suspected food poisoning.

State Education director Datuk Roslan Hussin said 24 students were rushed to the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital in Kuala Pilah on Wednesday (June 12) evening but nine were given outpatient treatment.

"The students who are in Form One to Five have been receiving treatment since Wednesday night.

"They were believed to have started falling sick after having lunch at the school," he said adding that the students began vomiting and having diarrhoea after their meal.

Roslan said the warded students were in a stable condition.

"The district health authorities have already started a probe into the matter," he added.
