FT to restart Non-Muslim Places of Worship Committee

PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Territories Non-Muslim Places of Worship Committee will be reactivated, says Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) said the committee had not convened for a long time to discuss issues related to non-Muslim places of worship.

“This is one of the issues raised during the Federal Territories Development Action Council (MTPWP) meeting.

“The meeting agreed to reactivate the committee, and it will convene soon,” she said in a statement yesterday, Bernama reported.

The MTPWP serves as a platform for coordinating and identifying appropriate initiatives and strategies, discussing development matters in the Federal Territories, and ensuring the full implementation of decisions made by the National Development Action Council and the National Development Action Committee at the Federal Territories level.

Dr Zaliha, who chaired the meeting, said among the issues discussed were the latest developments on Rolling Plan 4 of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) in the Federal Territories.

Also discussed were the eKasih report, initiatives to eradicate hardcore poverty, and other issues concerning the development and progress of the Federal Territories.

“I also suggested that the Federal Territories Department hold a workshop with MPs in Kuala Lumpur to review and understand the needs of the people in preparation for the development of Rolling Plan 5 of the 12MP.

“May all the discussions and plans during the meeting yield positive results and benefit the residents of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan,” Dr Zaliha added.
