AFTER spending an hour documenting their experiences at a hotpot restaurant in Beijing, China, two food bloggers left without eating a single bite.
The wasteful act was shared by netizens on social media platform Xiaohongshu, Sin Chew Daily reported.
In the photos, the duo could be seen filming food and repeatedly adding ingredients to the hot pot.
After explaining the various aspects of the meal, they left without consuming anything, leaving behind a table full of untouched ingredients and beverages.
The move has raised eyebrows among Internet users, with one of them asking: “Food celebrities spend an hour playing with food and leave without eating a single bite! Is this really okay? ‘Guang Pan Xing Dong’ (clean plate campaign) turned out to be just a slogan.”
Another netizen echoed the sentiment, commenting: “This is how food exploration often goes, wasting food.”
Some expressed disappointment that many bloggers seemed to be only paid to recommend restaurants without genuinely enjoying the food.

“We filmed for six months because I had absolutely no acting experience or training!
“I worked tirelessly, shooting for 50 hours straight without sleep for this drama,” said Chan, adding that it was a challenge alternating between studio and outdoor shoots.
She admitted that her performance at the time was “completely inadequate”.
In recent years, Chan has left the acting scene and transitioned into being a wife and influencer – occasionally sharing cooking videos.
