PAS not breaking away from Perikatan, says Takiyuddin

PETALING JAYA: There is no possibility of PAS joining the unity government, says Takiyuddin Hassan.

In a statement on Sunday (June 23), the PAS secretary-general refuted the comment by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil who said that the Islamist party could join the unity government.

"PAS remains with and will continue cooperating with Perikatan Nasional, which has been mentioned before by party deputy president Datuk seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and PAS ulama council chief Datuk Ahmad Yahya," he said.

"The 'negotiations' mentioned by the minister (Fahmi) – especially between the mentris besar of PAS-led states and the Prime Minister – are normal negotiations related to the administration of states and the federal government.
