Anwar extends condolences to family of cartoonist Rizalman


KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extended his condolences to the family of legendary local cartoonist Rizalman, who died Friday morning (June 28). He was 76.

The prime minister described Rizalman, whose real name is Mohamad Razali Osman, as a man who contributed immensely to the country's art and comics industries.

In the 1970s, Rizalman published various popular and successful comics, such as Bujal, Salina, and Bambino, as well as community and investigative comics.

"He also contributed comics to Utusan Pelajar in the 1970s and major newspapers, including Mingguan Malaysia.

"May Allah SWT forgive all his sins and place him among the righteous. Al-Fatihah,” Anwar posted on Facebook on Friday.

Media outlets had earlier reported on the death of the veteran cartoonist from Kelantan. – Bernama
