Firdaus Wong questioned by police over viral video

PREACHER Firdaus Wong has had his statement recorded by the police regarding a viral video allegedly showing him advising a man on a minor’s conversion to Islam, reported Harian Metro.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja’a’far@Ismail said that the statement was recorded on Wednesday.

“We will refer the case to the deputy public prosecutor once the investigation is completed.”

ACP Shahrulnizam said that four police reports had been received over the incident and the statements of three individuals had been recorded.

He added that a request to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission about the TikTok video had been made to identify its operator and owner.

The case is being investigated under Section 505(c) and Section 298 of the Penal Code as well as Section 233 of the Communica-tions and Multimedia Act.
